Initially formed in 1995, our mission remains the same – to achieve the best possible results for our clients by providing exceptional quality legal services in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The firm is located in downtown St. Paul, just one block away from the Ramsey County District Court and the United States Federal District Court building. The firm practices in both federal court and state courts throughout Minnesota. The firm is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating, and is also listed in Best’s Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys. We are proud of the experience and specialization our firm offers to its clients. As a smaller firm with four attorneys, one "of counsel" and two paralegals, we can provide our clients with personal and individual attention and prompt service. Our clients know from the outset who will be handling their legal dispute and their needs will not be lost in the shuffle of a big firm hierarchy. We appreciate deadlines, the unique needs of each of our clients, and readily respond to accommodate those needs. Effective and cost efficient claims resolution is realized, in part, by the fact that we limit our practice areas to business and insurance industries with which we have considerable knowledge and experience. As a result, we know the legal issues that confront our clients, thereby avoiding the need for self-education, which ultimately reduces litigation costs. While we have published numerous books and articles within our primary practice areas, and are frequently invited to speak at legal seminars and train others within these areas, we do more than "study the law" and provide our clients with theoretical opinions – effective and efficient claims resolution can only be accomplished by having both knowledge of the law and practical experience in the area so that "real-world" options can be explored. Our vast experience in these practice areas allow us to timely identify those claims for which there is liability and to discuss ADR, settlement opportunities or other possible unique resolutions early on. We strive to provide exceptional quality legal services as cost effectively as possible. We offer our clients creative and reasonable compensation arrangements as an alternative to paying the considerably higher hourly fees charged by larger firms. Additionally, unlike larger firms, where it may be difficult to reach one of the attorneys that have been assigned to the legal matter, we designate one attorney to have primary legal responsibility for each matter on which our services are requested. Assignment of legal matters is made to achieve efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising quality. While we have considerable experience in handling complex and class action litigation - which may require the need for more than one attorney’s involvement – we do not assign multiple attorneys to handle legal matters that could be accomplished more efficiently by one attorney. Nor do we assign more experienced attorneys to handle legal matters that could be resolved more cost effectively by junior level attorneys. Our staffing decisions are based on the qualifications and level of experience necessary to handle and resolve our client’s legal dispute, not to cover overhead costs. By focusing our practice on areas in which we have considerable experience, providing training services to our clients to reduce litigation and promptly evaluating claims that do arise, we are able to provide exceptional legal services to our clients as cost-effectively as possible.
