Michael D. O'Neill has been licensed to practice law since 1989 in Minnesota state and federal district courts. He has extensive courtroom trial experience working at the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office as a law clerk, full-time attorney, and part-time contract attorney from 1987 through 1996. He also gained extensive civil courtroom, trial experience working in the general litigation, employment, trust and will practice areas as an associate attorney at Dudley & Smith from 1990 through 1995, and as a partner at O'Neill, Grills & O'Neill, P.L.L.P., with his father Joseph T. O'Neill and Peter H. Grills from 1995 through 2005. Mr. O'Neill was a former board member of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and has taught at seminars on employment law related matters for the Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute and Lorman Education seminars. Presently Mr.O'Neill is a partner at the law firm of Johnson Provo-Petersen O'Neill, L.L.P. He works on behalf of clients in matters involving general civil litigation, employment law on behalf of individuals and corporations, estate and trust litigation, business litigation, energy litigation, personal injury (plaintiff and defendant), general insurance defense, insurance subrogation, and criminal defense.
